Good dog for Apartment and running?

Under the circumstances, don't get a puppy. I personally don't like to leave a dog alone, especially crated, for more than 4 hours on a regular basis but it might work if you look for a slightly older dog, perhaps one who is used to living a more solitary life. Why not go to your local Shelter, and adopt?!
